Youngren Tradeworks Helps Padilla Bowen Family Open the Door to New Possibilities
As two busy professionals and the involved parents of energetic young daughters, Jessica and Nathan Padilla Bowen have worked as a team to build a fun and fulfilling life for their family. Recently, they teamed up with Youngren Tradeworks to complete a transformation in their longtime Encinitas home that is designed to provide options and opportunities for the future.
Jessica explains, “Over the past few years, we remodeled our original one-story home and built a second story. In addition to extending our family footprint
by including an upstairs living room and bathroom, it features a spacious multipurpose studio with kitchenette, bathroom and workspace/living quarters that can accommodate a variety of options: Nathan’s photography studio, my home office, an inviting guest house for visiting family and friends, or perhaps someday a rental. We wanted flexibility of use.”
A Weighty Challenge; A Successful Installation
A Weighty Challenge; A Successful Installation
Nathan, a talented DIY-er with a background in design and construction, accomplished many facets of the renovation himself and managed the entire project. To separate the two upstairs areas, he selected an elegant, three-panel, interior accordion door of wood, steel, and glass, as well as accompanying hardware.
They needed to find someone experienced and skilled to install this heavy, delineating piece. They found Youngren Tradeworks and felt immediately confident.
Nathan explains, “I wanted to divide a large loft space to two flexible areas, at a major steel structural frame. To achieve the look I wanted I designed a custom triple-folding door set that broke several conventional rules. This was not a normal installation job, and the tolerances required did not leave any room for error.”
He notes, “Jim Unmacht’s team was not only able to easily understand my specific design and requirements, but they executed the installation very efficiently and very accurately. I was impressed at their level of skill and craftsmanship, which is all too rare these days. I would happily recommend them.”
